C and D blocks of Anand Niketan recently faced an event which could have been of catastrophic proportions. On the morning of 10th September as major parts of Delhi were undergoing preparations for the G20 summit, rains and thunderstorms lashed the city leading to the uprooting of a tree in the C block of the colony. The uprooted tree fell on to the power lines taking down 9 electricity poles with them.
This incident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the morning affecting the C and D blocks. However hats off to the BSES personnel who turned up in record time by quarter to 5 a.m. and were busy throughout the day in rectifying and changing 12 electricity poles till late at night around 10:30 p.m. The residents of Anand Niketan rallied around the BSES personnel. The BSES team was stationed in the colony for the entire day.
The residents of Anand Niketan offered all kinds of support to the team and when the final pole was in place by 10:30 pm they offered a huge applause for this stupendous work. The officials of the BSES company present in the colony appreciated the support offered by the colony residents. The same work would have taken several days if not for the support of the residents.
When the roads were blocked by the fallen tree and cables, the residents connected with each other over phone and wherever the cars needed to be removed or the vehicles needed to be taken out, they all coordinated with each other to make the work easier for the BSES team.
This was highly appreciated by the company personnel “Thank you for all the support, patience and cooperation by all residents and RWA team members. Also really appreciate your hospitality (especially to Deepti Mam, Sh. Rohit ji, Ahuja ji, and Sh.Khanna ji) during the entire day.” This message was sent by Mr
Naveen Yadav of BSES.
We say all is well that ends well.
