Our sector can boast of having a large number of parks giving enough green space for the residents to enjoy a healthy environment. Well, on one hand it is a great USP for the sector but at the same time it throws a challenge also to maintain and upkeep so many parks simultaneously on a regular basis. Otherwise these parks will lose their charm and fade away with the passage of time. Presently, the fact remains that upkeep of the parks is not being taken care of and maintenance has taken a back seat.
For instance, in the popular Trifla Park, one section of peripheral grill has been found broken at one end for many weeks. Every day, this grill swings over the hinges and takes different angular positions depending upon the wind direction and speed or by manual movements. This is very dangerous for the park visitors as the free end of the grill comes very near to the walking track and may hurt the walkers. It is surprising to note that the authority staff visits the park almost daily, notices this grill in damaged condition but does not take any action to correct it. This needs immediate attention of the Noida Authority to fix the grill to avoid any untoward incident.
In another park by the side of Shivalik houses, the condition of dustbins is very pathetic. The dustbins are broken and lying scattered all around. These dustbins have rather turned into garbage and are spoiling the aesthetics of the park. Such scenes present a very shabby picture of the sector parks and speak volumes on the upkeep and maintenance by the concerned authorities. No doubt, the parks are green lungs of the sector and have to be kept lush green always but they are also the ornaments of the sector which have to be maintained regularly lest they will lose their lustre.
