Uttar Pradesh police have launched the ‘Savera Yojana’ to assist senior citizens during emergencies. Under the scheme, the police will keep a record of people aged ’60 years and older and will be available on call at the helpline number 112 for quick relief. Police personnel will visit seniors at their homes regularly and also extend help during emergencies (medical or non-medical). To register for Savera Yojana program, senior citizens can visit the nearest police station or use the 112 helpline. A person aged 60 and above can register for the service online at http://125.16.12.217/srcitizen/ by filling out the required details in the form.
