Unnati, a school of learning, organised three fun games for the children to celebrate the first festival of the year.
The first game was to design their own Lohri card -using groundnut shunk, second one was to design their own creative kite with innovation and the last one was based on race against time – to write Happy Lohri in one minute with the help of mungfalis. All the children enthusiastically participated in it and the winners were awarded with popcorns, Gajak and revaris by Amrita Jatia.
Every educational institution performs the ritual of Saraswati Puja with full reverence. Like last year, Unnati also celebrated Saraswati Puja with religious fervor. The students of Unnati worshipped Goddess Saraswati and seeked her blessings to attain knowledge and wisdom. Nidhi Singhal sang Bhajans and offered prasad to kids. Stationery items were also distributed to the children by Jaivani ,Ojas and Lohith Pratap Singh.
This year we thought of twinning patriotism and religion by celebrating the festivals of Basant Panchami and Republic Day together. After the puja, the students of Unnati gave their performance at the RWA’s Republic Day celebration. It was for the first time they had given a group performance. When their performance was over it was a feast for the senses of the audience to see the performance of Unnati children. The kids enjoyed getting themselves painted either on their hand or on their cheeks. In the end goodie bags were distributed by members of RWA to all the children who performed on that day. It was quite a great learning experience for the children of Unnati.
