Ridhima Gupta wins a gold medal
Gautam Budh Nagar District Chess Championship 2023 unfolded an extraordinary display of skill, intellect, and competitive spirit 23 and 24 May. Organized at Jaypee Public School under the dynamic leadership of K C Joshi Sir, the championship provided a platform for chess enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to showcase their abilities. Amongst the impressive competitors, one young talent was —Ridhima Gupta, an eighth-grade student from Amity International School, Noida.
In the fiercely contested Under 13 Girls category, Ridhima Gupta exhibited exceptional mastery over the game, emerging victorious with a gold medal. Ridhima’s success can be attributed not only to her natural talent but also to the unwavering support and guidance of her mother, Reema Gupta and blessings of her grandparents Vinod Prakash Gupta and Sudha Gupta, residents of 2612 Overseas Apts (F-9) Sec-50, who played a crucial role in her chess journey.
Ridhima’s passion for chess blossomed at a young age, nurtured by her mother’s constant encouragement and belief in her abilities. Through countless hours of practice and participation in local tournaments, Ridhima steadily honed her skills, developing a deep understanding of the game. Her determination and perseverance propelled her to the pinnacle of success at the district championship.
The gold medal marked a significant milestone in Ridhima’s chess career. Her achievement not only brought glory to her school but also filled her entire family with immense pride.
