On 17/12-11-24 Tulsi Shaligram Vivah was held in Shiv Mandir which was all decorated with lights and balloons. There was a powerful demon named Jalandhar. He was very cruel, tortured people and then killed them. His wife BRINDA was a पतिव्रता wife. Due to her पतिव्रता धर्म, no one could kill the demon. Bhagwan Mahadev fought with him for a long time but could not kill him. Finally Lord Vishnu decided, until Brinda’s pativrata dharma is destroyed, the demon can’t be killed.
Lord Vishnu approached Brinda in disguise of Jaalandhar and destroyed her pativrata dharma . Demon Jaalandhar was killed. Brinda realized the truth and cried, she told lord that none will ever marry her in future, and cursed Lord Vishnu to become stone( Salig Ram). From his tears Tulsi grew. Lord Vishnu told Brinda that He will come in the form of Saligram and marry her as Tulsi.
विवाह मंडप was set, Bhagwan Salig Ram brought by Baratis from one side door of mandir prangan and Mata Tulsi from the other door by ladies, singing songs. Mata was decorated with red bangles, Mehendi and ornaments. With Havan and Ved mantra, vivah rituals were performed by pujari Parmod and Gangeshwar ji. Shankh Dwani arti and parikrama were held. Bhajan and badhai singing was part of the celebration. Finally Snacks, cold and hot drink were arranged by mandir.
