Last year some of us mothers including Ankita Govil (37/1001), Richi Varma (34/2304), Anub Manan (34/140 and Aishvarya Rathore (35/2004) started Halloween trick or treat and it spread through word of mouth. Some 15 children had participated last year. However we realised that a lot of children were interested.
This year we invited all parents to take part with their kids and started a group for this initiative. We were overwhelmed to see that some 65-70 parents had joined the group to take part on the day. This whole day was organised for children. This was the first time many were experiencing Trick or Treat in Espacia.
Children dressed as their favourite characters-we saw lots of beautiful Witches, Scary Monsters, Harry Potter, Unicorns, Fairys, and Super Heroes. All children participating had a blast. Residents were welcoming kids with so much joy to their homes for trick or treat. The Happy kids got tons of candies, cookies, chocolates etc and were thrilled and ecstatic going door to door for trick or treat.
The whole idea behind this was to organise something for kids, for kids to enjoy and be whoever they want to be. Kids were trick or treating till almost 9 pm and had so much fun. Some of the residents had also gone out of their way to decorate the house for trick or treat to welcome the little trick or treaters. We need more such activities planned for children especially younger kids to ensure they feel a part of the community, they feel loved and have an excellent day.
