Lack of timely pruning to blame
Another tree branch bites the dust, on B-9 street again!
“We should file a petition against Court order restraining us from pruning dangerous overgrown trees showing photos of damaged cars and boundary walls of flat owners in VV”
“We totally agree. Pruning is essential for tree maintenance”
“These are all overgrown, unpruned and over laden trees, which are causing havoc on B-9 street.”
These are the opinions of a majority of residents of B block who have been facing the aftermath of falling trees and branches. The unpruned and overgrown trees now fall even without rains and thunderstorms as recently happened in B 9 Street.
A heavy tree branch fell on the KIA car parked underneath. The car belonged to (Anjali Khosla, B9/18). The owner had requested repeatedly for pruning of the said tree and had even lodged a formal request for pruning with the MCD. The tree fell on 3rd August and a formal complaint was registered again a few days prior to that.
We wonder what is more important, life and property of residents or some old archiac laws that MCD Horticulture keeps upholding. Those against pruning should give it a serious thought.
