Trees Burnt Due to Fire

On 26 December evening, intense fire broke out in the corner of the front side of Meghdutum Park. Reportedly 9 palm trees were completely destroyed by the fire. This is the collection point of green garbage in the park. The fire spread fast due to the dry leaves. Earlier, during summer time such fire was reported twice. The incidents of fire point out to the negligence on the part of the horticulture department, which is responsible to keep the park clean. Since the last 6 months the residents, who are regular visitors to the park, have been noticing the neglected condition and have voiced their concern.
