In an effort to combat winter pollution, The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) had taken a decision to ban tree pruning in the city from October 1 till January 2023. This measure was taken considering the GRAP restrictions to help in dust mitigation and to maintain better air quality.
Only the trees found obstructing visibility of traffic signals and preventing pedestrian movement on footpaths were considered to be trimmed by the civic body.
Come February 2023, the administration removed the ban and it brought a relief for residents who had been struggling with some overgrowths and pruning needs.
DLF teams in consultation with RWA teams made a schedule for tree pruning in each block and have started calls from residents where any emergent action is needed
