Trees are precious to mankind. Much emphasis is being laid on planting saplings to increase green cover across the world and indeed SDA. Equally important, is to protect them, and contribute towards the health of trees, as well as, protection of property and life. With this objective in mind, pruning activity was initiated in SDA during the month of Feb’2024 and completed end April.
It all started in the three week of Jan’24 with the collection of data from residents who cooperated in full and exhibited tremendous patience for the results. I wish to express my gratitude for the same. Approval for 63 tress (MCD) was taken in record time, which in itself was an accomplishment, as permission these days is rarely given for such a large number, thanks to Purnam Kar for his tremendous effort in getting the same. This whole task was possible due to a coordinated effort and with appreciation of constraints of all a parties involved, namely Sarita Phogat (Counsellor), Deepti Verma who visited several times to check progress and Dharam Raj — (SO horticulture MCD ). All of whom the undersigned member of SDARWA coordinated with. Be that as it may, nothing would have been achieved without the frontline soldiers namely Ashok — (SDARWA Office assistant ), and Sudhir ( incharge of pruning team-Horticulture ) as well as Mr Bhogi our( linesman – BSES )to organise power shutdowns.
Having said that, many lessons have been learnt and feedback regarding constraints of manpower, tower vehicles and other equipment required for smooth operation has been assessed and our counsellor has been made aware of.
Last but not the least, | wish to appeal to our MLA Somnath Bharti ji and MCD Personnel that this activity should be done on a regular basis by the concerned civic authorities with minimal intervention of residents.
