Incident: Tragic Death of a Pet Dog during Construction Site Crossing On the morning of October 11th, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in opposite Plot 55, Sector 15-A, Noida, involving the untimely death of a pet dog. The incident transpired at approximately 7:00 am when the dog’s helper was walking the pet in the vicinity.
As the helper and their pet were crossing a construction site within Sector 15-A, across Plot 55, a heart-wrenching accident took place. Multiple iron rods, carelessly offloaded from a construction truck, collapsed onto the dog, leading to its immediate demise.
Sequence of Events:
At 7:00 am, Mrs. Smita Bhatnagar and her helper were walking their dog when a construction truck, oblivious to their presence, began offloading iron rods. Tragically, the rods fell onto the dog, causing its immediate death. Shockingly, the contractor failed to take responsibility, and work continued as the family grieved. Furthermore, some workers at the site made unsolicited, insensitive, and hazardous comments about the incident, despite the dog being on a leash.
Negligence and Violations:
The incident raises significant concerns about the negligence of the contractor, who failed to ensure the safety of pedestrians and pets in the vicinity of the construction site. Moreover, the disregard for established protocols is evident as construction work commenced prior to the permissible time, in violation of the policy that restricts construction trucks before 9:00 am. Furthermore, the insensitivity displayed by the construction workers in their comments underscores the potential risk to human lives, including elderly individuals or children, who could have been subjected to serious injuries or worse in a situation akin to this one.
This incident underscores the necessity for robust safety protocols and a thorough investigation to determine its cause, evaluate site safety, and ensure accountability. It is crucial to take appropriate actions to protect residents, their pets, and hold those responsible accountable.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family who lost their beloved pet in this unfortunate incident.
