Once a quiet peaceful colony where residents could walk freely. One could get in and out of the colony in a matter of minutes. It was a pleasure driving to the market. Sadly, all of this has finished. The colony gets totally blocked specially during peak hours even reaching your own home takes hours.
If we analyse this there are lots of reasons for this:
Firstly, Commercial activity in the colony, which has led to increase in traffic, Roads specially the nallah bridge road is very narrow.
Secondly, outside traffic using the colony as a thorough fare to avoid rush on ring road and BRT choking all exit points.
Thirdly, closure of U-turn on BRT road again making outside cars use our colony roads.
The main concern is the nallah bridge with four entry points totally jamming the traffic. In this area 80% of traffic is outside traffic consisting of hooligans. These guys have sometimes got into scuffle with the guards and even with security chairman while managing traffic. The RWA needs to get outside support by speaking to the authorities specially traffic police otherwise some-day a major tragedy will take place here. The RWA security team instead of closing gates should work together and chalk out a workable solution to manage traffic with guards.
