The old bottlenecks of the colony at all the entrances, near Nallah, market and Masjid side are creating nuisances for the residents who are facing the hassles almost every day. Due to poor planning for the movement of traffic in the colony, the daily traffic jams are now quite visible in the morning, evening and during the school timings.
Why the traffic issues are not resolved?
• There is no gate management in the colony during the day time…More than 15 gates are open for entry as well as exit from the colony which is the main reason of these traffic jams
• There is no one to manage the traffic and all gates are used as per the will and fancy of the vehicle owners including big vehicles which are carrying building material throughout the day
• The traffic police is never consulted to align the traffic in the colony; The traffic police has its own issues of shortage of manpower
• More than 200 school buses are moving all over the colony in the morning and afternoon to add to the traffic
How traffic can be streamlined in the colony—some suggestions from the residents:
• The RWA’s must take help of a professional agency to draw traffic flow after studying the bottlenecks, during peak hours etc
• The demarcation of entry and exit should be done properly with proper boards etc. The same must be communicated to the residents through social media, AGM’s functions etc.
• The residents must be educated to not use their cars in the colony to visit market, parks clubs etc. this will also reduce the traffic
• The regular feedback from the residents is must to make the necessary changes in the traffic management plan
Lastly, there are many posh colonies in the Delhi NCR which may be visited by the RWA teams to learn and implement their success stories to make our colony livable, Lovable and enjoyable!!
