Too Many Speed Breakers & Traffic Chaos @ 75

Oonche Neeche Raaste Aur Manzil Teri Door… Our Bollywood seems to have a song for each and every situation. Interestingly, these songs not only fit the filmy situation but sometimes real-life situations too. This song is dedicated to the residents of Sector 75, who have to commute in and out of the sector daily. The entry of Sector 75 near Sector 50 Metro station has some of the worst conditions. If you want to enter Sector 75 near the Sector 50 metro station with your car or cab, you have to cross five speed breakers very close to each other. After a distance of 30 meters, you have to cross two more speed breakers, and then after about 50 meters, you have to cross two additional speed breakers. Imagine the painful journey for senior citizens or pregnant women sitting in a car. If the car is a little old, the engine may even stop on the elevated bump when turning from the main road into the Sector 75 road. In addition to the inconvenience of speed breakers, traffic chaos adds to the plight and discomfort of the commuters. Visitors to the Spectrum Mall park their cars on both sides of the road, significantly decreasing the area for traffic flow. Dealing with this traffic chaos daily can lead to reaching destinations later than expected, resulting in missed appointments, meetings, or deadlines. Spending extra time stuck in traffic is a sheer waste of time that could be used productively elsewhere. Fuel wastage burns a hole in our pockets, as idling in traffic consumes fuel, increases expenses, and contributes to air pollution. Unnecessary wastage of time, energy, and fuel also causes driver stress. Dealing with aggressive drivers, road rage, and tight spaces can cause physical and mental strain. Physical discomfort is also a concern. Long periods of sitting in traffic can lead to fatigue, hunger, and discomfort. The record-breaking soaring summer temperatures this season have been a hot topic of discussion. But do we realize that idling vehicles emit harmful pollutants, contributing to climate change and air quality issues? Time spent in traffic takes away from work, study, or personal activities. The stress and annoyance of dealing with traffic chaos can affect mental well-being and overall quality of life. Noida, a bustling hub of urban activity, has been witnessing a concerning trend of poor road safety, particularly in its 7X sectors. The sorry state of the roads is a well-known issue, one that has been neglected for years. Broken stretches of pavement have become commonplace, posing a hazard to motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. The civic agencies seriously need to think of better planning of roads, parking, and maintenance of roads before the roads of Noida turn into an uncontrollable vehicle vortex.
