On 23 May, Tuesday, a solemn event took place at Gate no. 2, Sector 92, commemorating the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru. This significant historical event holds im-
mense importance in Sikh history and continues to inspire generations with its profound teachings of sacrifice, resilience, and spiritual fortitude.
In 1606, Guru Arjan Dev Ji faced extreme persecution under the orders of Jahangir. Refusing to compromise his beliefs, Guru Ji endured immense suffering, including torture and humiliation. Finally, he was martyred, setting a profound example of standing firm in the face of adversity. His sacrifice became a defining moment in Sikh history, fueling the spirit of resistance against injustice.
Chabeel Distribution: To honour Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s memory, the event at Gate no. 2, Sector 92, included chabeel distribution. Chabeel, a refreshing sweet drink, holds a special significance as it symbolizes the spirit of humility and selfless service exemplified by Guru Ji. Attendees partook in this tradition, which serves as a reminder to emulate Guru Ji’s teachings in our daily lives.
