On Sunday 20th of November, Dr. Shalini Chaudhary, a practicing Homeopath at Arya Samaj Mandir and a Counsellor, held her first-ever workshop to share her knowledge on a topic we, as parents, often neglect – ‘To Err is Parent’.
The workshop threw light upon the mistakes we unknowingly make as a parent, that leaves an impact on our child’s emotional health. A lot of parents are clueless as to how to handle certain issues. We make so many mistakes while nurturing our children. So Dr. Shalini opened up the doors to have an interactive workshop where she suggested some thought-provoking solutions like how we can avoid long lectures & instead sit with them, recognize and accept their stress & be available for them. Most important of all is a solution that we must accommodate our expectations according to their capabilities. She also explained the role of homeopathy in finding the right solutions for certain problems.
A lot of personalities who are doing commendable community service were invited as special guests and were honoured for their service. Quite a few were residents of DLF -2 as well, namely, Sapna Sehrawat, Dr Arun Aggarwal President Arya Samaj, Seema Bahl, Nidhi Lamba, Smriti Chhabra, Chitranjan Bhagat, Anuradha Nakra, and others included, Dy. Mayor Sunita Yadav, Jyoti Gupta, Pooja Mihani, Nidhi Agarwal, Sameera Satija, Adv Ritu Kapoor, Geetika Batra, Dr. Arvinder, Dr. Rohan Sikka, Arun Marwah, Suneet Malhotra and Kuldeep Hindustani. Parenting is a complicated topic, given the present environment to which the kids are subjected to/exposed. There can’t be a uniform remedy for all, it varies from family to family. The corrective measures need to be taken by the parents in the balanced manner. If timely steps are not taken, Kids become lifetime liability instead of becoming an asset.
Such workshops need to be organized regularly.
Welcome step taken by SAMVADA is appreciated.
