Below are two incidents witnessed by the same person! Lack of security, where miscreants do not hesitate to commit a crime in full view of an audience!
The requirement for CCTV cameras and well-lit roads is the need of the hour. The majority of the street lights are either not working or they are camouflaged with overgrown foliage!
“I don’t know if there’s any way of beefing up security, but this evening I witnessed a shocking incident just outside my house. I had gone to see my kids off: they were getting into the car, my dog was there, our guard was opening the car door, and this pedestrian walked past talking on his cell – literally from under our shocked noses, a two- wheeler drives up and snatches this poor guy’s phone and speeds off down the road – with six of us running behind him. “
“So do I, but this is the second time I’ve seen this happen. Last year, I was coming out of my gate, and my next-door neighbour had just come back from office. He must have gotten a call because he was stepping out of his car and he answered his phone. A second later, a two wheeler guy had whizzed off with it. Same story, no speed breaker, no lights!!! I’ve been asking for a speed breaker between A2 and A3 forever – we need that proper large one here – the only thing that will be a deterrent with a higher mast light between these two gates and a CCTV camera.”
