Daylight thievery is becoming a everyday norm in DLF Phase 2. The latest trend is whatever can be found outside the house gates can be picked and taken away, be it nameplates, plants, car battery or even main hole covers!
The residents have asked for a security review as many instances of theft are taking place in DLF Phase 2.
A resident of K-9 reported to QRT about the theft of their brass nameplate from their house in the broad daylight during the bustling hours. The whole incident was covered by the CCTV in which the thief is shown to be sitting on the pavement and acting like a rag-picker. He then unscrew the nameplate, waited for a while as if resting and rushed away stealing the nameplate.
An M 13 resident reported a similar instance on January 3rd where the nameplate was stolen from the house at around 7:30 am. This too was recorded on the CCTV footage.
Another incident was reported by the resident of the P-4 block in which the battery of the car was jacked and stolen during midnight hours when the car was parked.
Even the gutter cover was lifted by the auto-rickshaw guy at around 2:14 pm from K 3 lane opposite Samrat bakery. This too was recorded in the CCTV, where he is seen stopping the auto-rickshaw and lifting the cover with ease.
All these incidents are reported, but the ultimate question remains, ‘Are we safe?’
