In a recent incident, a theft occurred in Palms on the day of Holi. The residents of a flat, who were away for the day, returned to find their home completely ransacked.
Upon arriving home late on Monday evening, the family discovered jewellery cases and bags scattered on the dining table. The open service balcony door suggested a possible entry point for the thieves, possibly through climbing pipes.
The family reported a loss of cash and jewellery amounting to 18 lakhs, with the thieves having forcibly opened heavy iron almirahs to access the valuables.
A complaint has been filed with the Sec 40 police station, prompting a close investigation.
The incident has left the residents of Palms in shock, as such occurrences are unprecedented in a closed, gated community like Palms, where high-level security is typically assured.
