A few months of 2022 gave us many reasons to celebrate. As the situation improved, people stepped out of their homes, and spent happy times with family and friends. The Gulmohar Centre returned to hosting social events that members had missed dearly for a couple of years.
December was no different, and provided two great opportunities to bid adieu to the year, Christmas Eve and New Year Eve. Christmas is one of the favorite holidays of the year, and for good reason: the decorations, the gifts, the coming together of family and friends, and the festive air filled with the smell of great food and the rhythm of music. For Christmas, the Centre was dressed at its colourful best, with the front lawn and courtyard buzzing with energy and good mood. The vibe was joyful and enjoyable, with live music helping the young and old, some as young as three years of age got into the mood, encouraged by the enthusiastic audience.
The excitement spilled over to the New Year Event, this time with a difference. The Gulmohar Centre decided to move the celebrations to the infinitely warmer and cosier indoor spaces, appreciated by the packed house. The first floor restaurant and bar area was lit up with yellow and orange streams of light running along the columns and walls, lending a party look to the whole set up. For those with dancing shoes on, the DJ played several classics and newer hits to get the feet moving without a care. And a buffet spread comprising some of the favourites from the Centre’s kitchen kept tastebuds happy. When the clock struck 12, new year wishes were exchanged and the celebrations wound up with hopes and dreams of a happier, healthier 2023.
