In the Gold Souk open area, a wine shop was opening with the coming soon banner. It was hard to believe because the place is the centre for Maple Leaf Apartments, Chiranjiv Park, and the C block entrance. Concerned residents were surprised as all the school buses also go through the same spot. The residents of C block had protested when one such liquor shop was opened inside the Vyapar Kendra almost seven years back, they could get it removed from the inside of the market to the main road outside. A similar incident happened in Sector 43 when a big liquor shop construction commenced to take place just 40 meters away from the societies and a children’s park, which could cause a law-and-order issue in the vicinity. The residents are at their wit’s end as they cannot fathom how to get rid of it from the residential complex, some are proposing Dharna and other suggestions are pouring in. Who knows if they would be successful in their endeavour or not? The time will tell!
