Indeed, they are the Wizards of I Block South City 1 since they are conjuring up gold from trash.
The Residents of I Block (I-8 to I-49), have harvested their first batch of good, rich compost on 11th January 2024. They have a haul of 160 kg of organic fertilizer which they have put to use in their parks. Even now there is more ready compost waiting to be taken out of the pit.
Surbhi Pahuja (I-35), Swati Sekhri (I-37), and Savina Kerpal (I -8), have kept a close watch on the compost pit. To improve the logistics of the dumping of the wet waste (kitchen and garden waste), they engaged the services of a Sweeper.
As we all are aware, the services of the Municipality are the pits. So instead of constantly lamenting about it we could put our wits together and emulate the Wizards of I Block (among others) and turn our trash into treasure in compost pits.
