Holi is a magnificent festival in India that is celebrated with great zeal on the full moon day of the month of Phagun, signifying the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. This year, the residents of Prateek Wisteria had a religious and socio-cultural Holi celebration that commenced with Holika Dahan on March 24th. The celebrations began at 11 am at the Gate number 2, where the Holika bonfire was located. The Dahan was performed at 8 pm. A large number of residents gathered around the bonfire, chanting prayers that their internal evils be destroyed, much like Holika was burned in the fire. After the ritual, Prasad distribution and Gulaal tilaks were done, adding to the festivities. The following morning was filled with excitement and anticipation as residents looked forward to a colorful and lively Holi, providing a much-needed break from their monotonous routines. It was a well-deserved break, especially for students who had been studying hard. At 10 am, the DJ started playing some thrilling Holi songs, and all the residents, young and old, gathered in the central park area. With tube water sprinkling all around, sparkling Gulaal, and the energetic DJ, the atmosphere was set for a lively event. Children enjoyed playing with their water guns and balloons, while adults smeared colors on each other and danced their hearts out to both retro and the latest Bollywood numbers and Punjabi songs. The rain dance added to the joy and exuberance of the celebration. There were many food stalls offering a wide variety of delicious food to choose from. Holi was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm, bringing a feeling of love, happiness, and togetherness among people of all ages, colors, and religions. It is rightly called the festival of love too. The event turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and well-organized events, bringing the entire community closer. It was indeed a beautiful, fun-filled, and vibrant day for everyone leaving us with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
