Our sector(31 C) was a feast of colors on 8 March on the joyous occasion of Holi. The celebration was marked by bonding and camaraderie between the residents, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from most residents and their families.
The celebrations began early in the day, with everyone out in the morning. Carefully laid out tables had thalis full of colorful gulaal inviting the riot of colors to begin. People met each other, smeared each other with gulaal, and exchanged the customary hugs, wishing each other Holi Mubarak!
Delicious snacks were exchanged in between amongst the residents.
The residents had earlier taken a unanimous decision to avoid hard dyes and strong colors, and play Holi with gulaal and herbal colours only, in the true spirit of the festival, and this rule was followed heartily by all residents. Children of the society could not have asked for more. They could be seen running around with pichkaris and water balloons, marking out any and every one. Soon, it became hard to recognize anyone!
