The Stress of March: A Challenge for Students and Teachers

As the calendar flips to March, students and teachers alike feel the weight of the academic year’s culmination.

Students worry about preparing, taking the exams, and getting good results. Teachers, on the other hand, work hard to set question papers, help students review,  check answer sheets and prepare report cards.

For some students, the stress of exams is even worse. In some places, students whose parents haven’t paid school fees might not be allowed to take the exams. Schools might keep their report cards, stop them from taking the exams, or give them very little time to finish the test. This is very unfair, as students are punished for something that’s not their fault.

This situation can be very upsetting for students. They might feel anxious, sad, and worried about their future. It’s essential for schools to find better ways to deal with unpaid fees. They could help families pay the fees, give them more time to pay, or find other solutions that don’t hurt students.

As we navigate the pressures of March, let us not forget the students who face these additional, unnecessary challenges. By promoting empathy and understanding, we can work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment.
