On 30th March`23, a storm came and a big tree from the nearby jungle fell on the boundary wall of our house in W Block. We complained but MCD said it was not in their jurisdiction as the tree was from a jungle and needed experts to cut it. As per them, this was necessary to ensure the safety of the MCD quarters in our back lane. I then requested in the colony whatsApp group for help and Bhavna Gupta stepped in and asked for details and the pictures of the incident. The help of fellow residents like her is much appreciated. She contacted the forest officials who came shortly thereafter and cut the part of the tree which was on our wall and inside our premises; they have promised to come after ten days to remove the rest of the tree after it dries up. As a resident it is very difficult for us to know where to go as well as whom to call and we hope other residents do not have to go through our experience.
