Summer is a season of vibrancy and colour, when nature comes alive with the blossoming of various flowers that captivate our senses. Look around in the neighbouhood, the Gulmohar trees are ablaze with red and look amazing in the backdrop of the clear blue sky.
At few places the soft blue blossom of the Jacaranda is soothing to the senses.
The bloom of colours on the trees that we are seeing on road sides and inside the complexes we live in reminds us that the summer has arrived.
By mid-May the brilliant yellow Amaltas will be seen in our streets and transform the look of the parks and street.
Not to miss out the blossom of Bougainvillea in different colours; at times the flowers outnumber the green leaves. Mostly the flowers are in the shades of red and pink, but in the society parks one can see some in golden or white colours too. Residents have planted them in their ground floor gardens and in the balconies as well.
The Champa trees are now getting loaded with flowers, the buds have started to open up after the winter spell in which they shed all the leaves and went silent. The whiff of fragrance as we walk pass a cluster of champa trees is amazing!
Hibiscus flowers, a timeless beauty of the summers, can be seen with its intricate petals and vibrant colors. Whether in its traditional form or as a hybrid variety, the Hibiscus never fails to enchant with its allure and charm. The sight of a blooming hibiscus plant is a treat for the eyes, evoking a sense of serenity and joy. Its presence is in the summer gardens enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the surroundings.
The array of trees over-laden with flowers is nature’s gift to us, but we fail to appreciate them. We fail to give them due regard as the Japanese do for their cherry blossom, American to their Fall, and Europeans to their tulips. Rather than yearning to have the colourful sight of nature in the foreign land, if we can appreciate what we see around us, here only.
