The Retreat proudly celebrated India’s Independence Day with a series of vibrant and patriotic events that brought together residents of all ages.
The festivities began with the hoisting of the national flag by the society president, accompanied by a march-past performed by the society’s security staff.
The central lawn, adorned with beautiful floral decorations, provided a picturesque setting for the day’s events. The society president, after hoisting the flag, addressed the large gathering, expressing gratitude for the community’s participation and emphasizing the importance of remembering the heroes who fought for India’s freedom. The president also took the opportunity to recognize and reward the society staff for their exemplary work, presenting them with well-deserved prizes.
A highlight of the event was the beautiful rendition of a patriotic song by a senior resident, which resonated deeply with the audience. The program continued with an impressive display of yoga by the children of the society, showcasing their discipline and dedication.
Adding to the patriotic fervour, children aged 3 to 5 recited stirring poems, while older children performed dances set to patriotic songs. The society’s talented teenagers contributed with melodious instrumental performances on the guitar, Casio and flute, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
The event also featured a charming fancy dress competition of toddlers, which brought smiles and laughter to all. Following the performances, a delicious brunch was served to all society members, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
The Independence Day celebration at The Retreat was not only a day of fun and frolic but also a poignant reminder of the spirit of patriotism and the sacrifices made by our national heroes. It was truly a day to remember for all who attended.
