The Palms, South City 1 recently concluded its AGM with 81 apartment owners in attendance.
The meeting was held in the central lawns on 1st October’s warm Sunday morning. The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the activities undertaken by the governing body in the last year, approval and passing of the audited accounts for the FY 2022-2023, appointment of a statutory auditor for FY 2023-2024 and approval for various maintenance and value enhancement projects for Palms.
Last year, Palms undertook extensive cleaning and maintenance initiatives, including the cleaning of underground and overhead water tanks, and servicing of DG sets, transformers, and HT/LT panels. Another accomplishment was the installation of new CCTV cameras strategically positioned and numbering of the existing cameras to enhance security. Palms also invested in new pumps for basements, improving the drainage system to cope with heavy rainfall. Additionally, the central lawns received a makeover with new grass implantation in dry areas, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of The Palms.
The members unanimously approved the proposal for the installation of a new mobile tower in the Palms Apartment complex for generating additional rental income for PAOA.
In the AGM, Ajit Chaturvedi was nominated to be the returning officer to conduct the elections of the governing body to be held in November 2023.
The current governing body also brought forward various proposals for the maintenance and value enhancement of the Palms Apartment complex. Aditya Goel (treasurer) and Vipul Garg (secretary) explained the details and critical issues and patiently answered the questions and clarifications sought by various members. The below projects were approved by the members after the open discussion:
1. Repair of Fire fighting system, 2. Waterproofing of the basement, 3. Replacement of existing damaged water pipelines (Pump rooms), 4. Replacement of faulty water pipeline in Tower 2 and 3 with new CPVC fittings, 5. Installation of a water treatment plant to improve the water quality, 6. Renovation or rebuilding of the swimming pool which is widely used by residents of Palms.
The members acknowledged and thanked the Facilities management team at The Palms who have ensured through the years, even during the pandemic, that all basic services continue to be provided seamlessly. The members present generously applauded the efforts of the facilities management team in the Estate Office and of the various service providers and this brought the 20th general AGM of PAOA closed.
