MCG has decided to set up a Zonal citizen supervisory committee for the four zones each across the city to monitor problems concerning sanitation, waste management and issues related to the civic amenities in the zone.
The zonal committees will address all grievances in each zone and will ensure their redressal with community participation across the city.
The idea to have committee for each zone is to ensure better redressal of community problems. Each zone in the city has its peculiar issues, so the committees will help deal with management system; is streamlined in their zones. It would offer solutions and monitor all sanitation related work. Each zone will have five-member committee; headed by the joint commissioner and four members from zone; of which minimum two members shall be female. The residents who want to be members of this committee, will have to get recommendations from 10 residents of that zone. The members will then be elected based on the draw of lots, said the MCG Additional Commissioner Dr. Balpreet Singh.
The residents who want to be part of the zonal citizen supervisory committees of their respective zones will have to submit their applications by 22/5/2024

• The application should be recommended by 10 citizens residents and their contact details should be mentioned.
• Lotteries /draws will be drawn at the MCG office- Only one citizen will be nominated from one ward.
