Noida, a city known for its well-planned infrastructure and green spaces, is facing a growing concern regarding the maintenance of its parks. Sector 36 is a prime example of this neglect, where the park’s pathetic condition is a far cry from the city’s vision of a green and vibrant public space.
The park’s benches are in disrepair, the flora and fauna are overgrown and unkempt, and the trees are planted randomly without any consideration for aesthetic sense or general care. The lack of pruning has resulted in overgrown trees that block sunlight, killing the once-lush green grass and seasonal flowers. The consequences of this neglect are far-reaching. Moreover, the park has become a hub for anti-social activities, with empty liquor bottles and other evidence of undesirable behaviour littering the area.
The situation has become so dire that decent people are hesitant to visit the park, fearing for their safety. A resident of Sector 30 reported being warned by unwanted elements after complaining about suspicious activity in the park. This is a serious matter that demands immediate attention from the authorities. Parks are meant to be vibrant public spaces where residents can walk, sit, and socialize. They are designed to provide a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, the neglect of Noida’s parks has turned them into eyesores that are best avoided.
As the winter season sets in, the park’s condition is a stark contrast to the ideal of a well-maintained public space where residents can bask in the sun and enjoy the fresh air. It is imperative that the Noida Authority takes immediate action to address the neglect of the city’s parks and restore them to their former glory. The residents of Noida deserve better. They deserve parks that are clean, safe, and well-maintained. It is time for the authorities to take responsibility and ensure that the parks are restored to their rightful place as vibrant and inviting public spaces.
