T block woke up to a festive feel with colourful décor and lilting music on Saturday 4th March 2023. It was the spring fest organized by Panchshila Montessori School.
The Chief Guest Ms Vinita Sachdeva, Headmistress of G D Goenka School, inaugurated the function. Around 30 students confidently staged a musical play, personally choreographed by the Principal Ms Sujata Sundaresan. The event was attended by over 100 guests including grandparents, parents and siblings of the students, and some of the colony residents. A number of the Society’s Managing Committee members were present too, led by its President, Vice President, and School Subcommittee Chairperson.
After the performance, the guests and kids enjoyed an array of activities that included a wide variety of interesting stalls, sumptuous chaat & food organized by Panchshila Club, foot tapping live music by Mr. Errol Gonsalves and a lucky dip.
The stalls were taken up by young entrepreneurs with a variety of products viz. children’s toys, puzzles, DIY kits, activity books, kids’ accessories & stationery. The organic grocery & food products and the home furnishing stalls were sought after. Windows the Art and Craft Corner, a studio run by Renuka in N block, also put up a highly popular stall where kids created a takeaway work of bottle art. The games corner and the swings were an icing on the cake for the kids to work their boundless energy out.
Neeraj, Eka’s father, summed up the sentiments of the parents perfectly when he said to one of the teachers (he was referring to how they supported Eka’s performance on stage), “We are grateful and indebted to you, for giving us those moments and – to use the cliched term – ‘tears of joy’. I have spent almost my entire career working for education of young children. But I learnt what it meant to be a teacher on Saturday.”
Kudos to the school and society management for putting together a wonderful show.
