A funny and scary festival that is Halloween – it has found firm roots in India and within the hearts of the children. The story goes like there was an old lady somewhere who disliked children very much. After she died, the children of that village started disappearing slowly. Now to counter this evil all the children of that village formed a plan and decided to dress up into scary get up and scare that old hag’s evil spirit. Since then it became a tradition. Another belief is that spirits of the dead come on earth this day and are invited in the homes and served food and gifts as guests.
The children of the Sector celebrated Halloween by getting dressed into scariest of clothes not to mention their faces painted into Draculas and other scary characters. They went around in search for trick or treat and rewarded with a lots of candies and sweets, went to watch horror movies and visited haunted places. It was fun thing for all the children getting dressed up and wandering and enjoying when on the normal days they would have been tucked safely in the bed.
