Teej Mela was organized at Maxblis White House apartments. The resplendent colours of Teej – Orange, Red, Yellow and Green welcomed the guests as they entered the Mela. There was a riot of colours which is so symbolic of Teej and the effect compounded so well with all the colourful finery adorned by the guests. The organizers need to be complimented for the choice of colours they used to drape the venue which suited so well with the ambience and the occasion.
There was enough variety in the shops for all to admire and choose from them and at the same time not excessive – whether it was the handcrafted artistry of the decoration pieces and ornaments, traditional kurtas, the saree collection, dress material or bedsheets. There were several stalls offering a variety of finger-licking street food.
The event aimed at celebrating the spirit of monsoon. The spectacular group dance performances by the ladies were well appreciated. Tambola, lucky draw and many other fun-filled activities followed. Free mehndi by artists was available and ladies flocked to get their hands done. There were many surprise gifts given to the ladies and the camel ride enthralled the children.
