Grandparents are super special; they are like a warm comforting hug on a cold winter day. To honour our grandparents and express our gratitude for all that they do, Windsor Court celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great love and enthusiasm on 11th September 2022.
The event was the vision of one of our residents, Priya Malhotra. Her motivation behind the event was to make the seniors in our condominium feel special and appreciated, bring the community together and spread smiles and joy, after what has been a difficult couple of years for each of us. Many enthusiastic volunteers pitched in to make this celebration super grand.
Personal invitations were extended to all seniors through phone calls. The dress code was florals for the ladies and pocket squares for the gents. The seniors showed up in beautiful and vibrant hues, dazzling us all. There was a lovely photo booth to capture these beautiful moments for life. The star attraction of the evening was a ramp walk by the seniors in pairs, wherein each pair was introduced through a personalized couplet written especially for them. At the end of the ramp walk the pair was asked a witty and fun question, invoking much laughter and nostalgia. The event was hosted brilliantly by a beautiful and vivacious young lady, Rhea Gujral. The amazing spirit and infectious energy of all the grandparents made this event truly stupendous.
There was lip smacking south Indian spread followed by many yummy cakes, generously sponsored by a few residents. The children of Windsor Court presented the seniors with a small memento and hand-written notes to cherish the memories of this wonderful event.
In the words of Priya, “Through this event, we have managed to create happy memories and receive so many blessings.”
What can be a better celebration than that?
