Chhath Puja – the festival of Sun God is a famous hindu festival ,celebrated every year in the month of October-November .It comes on 6th day of Diwali .It is basically celebrated in Bihar,
Uttar Pradesh and many other parts of India .On the Chath Puja eve devotees gather near river, ponds or any water body and offer their devotion to the biggest source of energy i.e. Sun. This is considered as one of the toughest puja.
This festive year it was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Elite Homz. The celebration started with Nahay -Khaye, the initial day of the puja wherein the vratis take vow of keeping the sacred fast in front of sun god, it was celebrated jointly with proper lunch arrangements for many Elitians.
Second day vratis observe fast for whole day offering Kharna Prasad to sun and Chhathi Maiyya .On th third day of puja whole day fast is observed with Sandhya Arghya to the Sun . The vratis make pious and delicious Prasad namely Thekua and Laddoo along with seasonal fruits, dry fruits etc.
Next day sunrise Arghya is offered to the sun and the fast is broken with distribution of Prasad i.e. Paran. The prasad arrangements were done in community hall along with tea and breakfast.
The chhath puja venue arrangements were decorated nicely, enlightened with colorful twilights and water vessel. The vratis this time were Sangeeta Jha, Anamika Sinha, Priya Sinha, Santosh Ramanuj,Priyanka, Richa Rai and Reema Gupta.
The arrangements made by Chhath Puja organisers were commendable. People of Purvanchal group contributed and made special efforts for the smooth functioning of this festival.
