The Independence Day of India, which is celebrated religiously throughout the country on August 15 every year, holds tremendous ground in the list of national days since it reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning, the beginning of an era of deliverance from the clutches of British colonialism of more than 200 years.
To cherish this hard-earned freedom and to commemorate the occasion, a three-day celebration was organised by the RWA Sector 39 beginning with the distribution of 600 flags to the residents towards the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative of the government wherein the tricolour was respectfully adorned on top of houses along with all the roads, markets and gate no 1 was decorated with tricolour theme.
Har Ghar Dhyan program initiated by the Ministry of Culture in association with a spiritual organization was organised on August 13 in Mandir Hall where Dr Vaishali Gupta, along with her team of trainers conducted the session with a large number of residents. Dr. Vaishali, in her charismatic style, explained how through meditation, we can control fluctuations of our mind which keep bothering our present; and how through breathing we can calm down our mental nerves and attain control of our thoughts.
On August 14, a flag rally was also organised by walking around the sector along with the ACP Rajneesh Verma, his team and the residents.
Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour in sports ground opposite the mandir. The program was hosted by T.S. Arora (general secretary RWA39) and the author of this write up.
The program started with the plantation campaign which was inaugurated by Indu Prakash Singh ( OSD ) of Noida Authority, Rahul Nayyar, TS Arora, Gunjan Bhatia RWA team members and residents planted the fruit plants.
A drawing competition was organised by a club for different 3 age groups with the theme ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’. All the participants were given prizes sponsored by a bank and the top three prizes in different age categories were sponsored by the club. About 53 kids of different age groups participated.
Flag hosting was done by our chief guest VP Kapoor, Director General Police (Retired) (UP), National song was sung by a group of ladies, kids and all.
About 57 teachers and 28 doctors living in the sector were awarded by RWA 39 for exemplary work in their fields.
A cultural program was presented by children of the sector which included song, dance, and speech. A melodious patriotic song was sung by a group of ladies which was enjoyed and appreciated by all. All performers, cultural program organisers and sponsors were recognised by the RWA 39 team by gifting trophies. All the residents were given planters and the program ended with delicious brunch.
