The General Body Meeting (GBM) of the MTPRWA was held on the 21st of April. The Malibu Country Club’s lush surroundings were the venue for the annual up
dates of the Governing Body. At the onset, President Mr Suresh Dhundia reminded the residents of our duty as community members to responsibly use common parking spaces or organise functions. Vice-President Niranjan Yadav apprised the audience of the progress and ongoing development of the colony which included the beautification of entry gates, the addition of gazebos and benches across parks, the resolution of Park hospital parking issue by approaching the CM window, and the repair of electric poles. He also informed me that the Pond project was awaiting the final allotment of the contractor before going on hold due to the code of conduct being implemented.
He also expressed hope regarding the recarpeting of roads post-elections, as well as the Club becoming functional due to the pursuit of the matter by the GB. Our ambitious plan of making Malibu a fully-processing-waste colony through the setting up of a Waste Management Plant has also gone on hold due to a legal case filed by a resident. Also, as a pilot project, 31 CCTV cameras with the latest wi-fi technology are being installed. Upon being successful, the plan is to take the numbers to a hundred.
An increase in maintenance charges at the rate of 50 paise for villas and 25 paise for floors was proposed by the GB which found support from the members.
Finally, the treasurer Mr. Rahul Agarwal presented the details of expenses which can be found on the RWA website www.mtprwa.com. An increase in the salary of the staff was also proposed which was approved by the house.
A few residents raised their concerns regarding security and construction which were duly noted by the GB. Thus concluded the GBM, followed by refreshments and happy banter of the residents.
