We had been planning a KT1 gathering for long. Finally, we fixed a date, made collections & finalised a caterer. We did everything in a week’s time. As we were meeting after long, all of us were excited.
The party was about having fun and coming together to meet new people, share food and get to know each other. This gathering made us feel better.
Even though social networking makes you feel connected, face to face communication is important and makes actual connections. Consistent communication with our neighbours is important for a happier and safer place to live in.
Our party was a hit. We played Antakshari with women and men participating equally. Then came music and dance; we danced till the midnight hour. Food took a backseat as we were enjoying each other’s company.
The gathering brought all the neighbours together after the pandemic. It is always a boon to have a good neighbourhood. When we know our neighbours, they are the first to stand by us in need.
Our bond now is stronger. I am sure new members are more comfortable and know their neighbours better. We are now planning to celebrate all the festivals together.
