The first year of normalcy after the pandemic saw a lot of changes in the syllabus and way of teaching in schools. This year, the board classes only had to appear for the papers once, which made the last year batches jealous.
As this year was the first year of offline school after two years, it seems CBSE went easy on the students. While there are a few mixed responses, the 10th graders had it easy, except the Hindi paper, which many considered extremely tough. Their Science paper was easy too.
Fortunately, the same can be said about the 12th graders. Except the Chemistry paper, which many found lengthy, the consensus was that the papers were NCERT – based and easy.
The boards were a first-time experience for the 10th graders, some of whom found it fascinating and were surprised by the fact that they had to stay at home for months to score good marks on a paper.
Due to the CUET introduction, 12th board results have mostly become obsolete for all students except the ones looking to go abroad. Instead of the board papers, the 12th graders were more worried about their prospects, which colleges and courses to apply to, appearing for competitive exams such as the JEE and NEET etc.
If nothing else, this year has shown CBSE’s ability to be flexible and adapt to change as even after two years of COVID, the first ‘normal’ board exams were organised without much problem.
