After a gap of six months, the long awaited, The Elders’ Getaway function, was held on Friday, 30 August. As always, it was an absolute roar. The atmosphere in the function hall was electric and full of zeal & enthusiasm.
Our imported MOC from ATS Pristine, Rajiv Chopra, was in full form with his witty comments, शेर-ओ-शायरी, and also had organised few games. The dance by the gorgeous ladies along with our homegrown सिया अशोक साहनी (3041) on the peppy number फ़क्र को घुएँ में उडाता चला गया…. sung by our सुर सम्राट- दिलों की धड़कन आलोक जी (5161) and ever gracious सुमन जी (10253) was a smashing hit.
Our guest artist, Shubhra Singh, enthralled the packed hall of elders with her melodious singing, leaving them with a & दिल माँगे मोर feeling.
Before her performances, the talented seniors – inhouse singers and poets – entertained the audience. The best part was that the audience was quiet, since they were busy munching the crunchy पकौडे with चाय की चुस्की। The sumptuous dinner was served piping hot. Everyone had a heartfelt meal. Icing on the cake was the double helping of authentic delicious. मूँग दाल का हलवा- Thanks to Nilu and Alok for all the logistics/ directorial efforts!
