The Club Committee Has to Be Cautious & Circumspect in Taking Decisions Without the Approval of The General Body

Let’s Learn from the Mistakes of the other Clubs

We have a beautiful and prosperous Club in 15A. It’s the envy of all Noida and the NCR region. However, important people in the UP bureaucracy are keeping a close watch on the developments in the Club. They all wonder how a residential club could be run so nicely without any help from the government.

It is important that our present Club Committee, which is running the operations on a fine thread primarily with the help of non-resident committee members, does not take any decision which is questionable, especially keeping in mind that Noida Authority has still not renewed the most important Lease Rent Agreement with the RWA.

We are sounding a note of caution keeping in mind important developments which have plagued the running of two important Clubs in our region – Sector 26 Club which is run with a similarly drawn constitution, and the famous Delhi Gymkhana Club which has recently been taken over by the DDA.

In the case of Sector 26, Noida authority has recently sent a letter to Club 26 to stop enrolling new members in all categories, including the resident category, because it was informed that there were deviations in the categories of enrolling members which did not conform to the Constitution submitted to it. (See the attached picture of the letter). It is quite possible that if, on investigation and audit of membership, the Authority finds deviations, they may take strong action which may not be in the interest of the residents and other members. Anybody in the higher-ups would love to take control of its management if they could.

We believe that our Club committee has changed the scope of Corporate Membership. To be safe, it should first be cleared by the General Body and then Noida Authority should be informed so that we are safe from any possibility of deviation from the correct path.

Our concern is only cautionary, with the hope that the Committee has ensured that they have followed the rules. Of course, the committee has past-President SP Bagla’s support and he seems to have a very good understanding of the Constitution.
