The Big Questions on Our Behavioural Hypocrisy

How do we interact with our house helpers, drivers, guards, caregivers, cooks and, in general, all the people who give us services to make our lives better? Is it the same way we do with our family, friends and acquaintances? Look around and we see persons with cynical behaviour, which may be different for two sets of persons, with no care for any logic or reason.

Readers, we may be having certain behavioural hypocrite tendencies that we only know while honestly peeping within.

Why is it that the minute we see a security guard waving us to stop at the entry gate, we get defensive and start badmouthing? We could have easily asked the reason.

Why is it we raise our voice on our domestic helps to get our point across? Why do we talk in a civil tone with people who are on the same so-called social ladder as us, even when we are angry with them?

Why do we get agitated when we are not served food quickly in a restaurant? Why can’t we go to a fast food for a quick bite?

Why is it that standing in a queue for a ticket or billing brings the worst out? Why can’t we have the patience of a 4-year-old?

Why does a street-side vegetable vendor have to justify the prices he quotes and we make it a point to ask for the discounts? Why do we pay whatever is printed on groceries in a departmental store?

Why we do do….

Many more questions on our behavioural hypocrisy….
