In a testing time like this people keep complaining about the Parks’ upkeep and retaining, a tremendous effort by Mr. Khurana, collegium, ward no. 9 and other devoted members like Mr. Mehra, Mr. Avinash, Mr. Harpreet, Mrs. Mirani, and others made the park in lane C 284, beautiful and usable by all. All these people took the initiative and decided to clean the park place and vegetated for all, with the help of the gardener Nand Kishore, who also resides in the lane.
They planted 23 Ashoka trees, 3 Champa trees, a few Oleander, and one Banana tree for pooja purposes in and around 120-150 sq. yd. plot. They also managed to get four concrete benches with the help of the councillor and placed them at the appropriate places so that the elderly or needy could use them if needed.
On the 20th of July, the park was formally introduced to the vicinity and plants were sown; to celebrate Van Mahotsav as called in by the President Mr. Deepak Verma. Many SLRWA members were invited for the purpose and they gathered in huge numbers. Mr. Dalwani, Mrs. Sudha Tiwari, Mrs. Sujata Gaur and the President – Mr Deepak Verma were present along with all the lane residents, to inaugurate the beautiful park. Kudos to their effort and camaraderie to save the colony a green lung which many others could not do. Hail to their team effort!
