If there is one secret that everyone is aware of, it is that there are so many people who recycle gifts received by them. This largely happens in the festive season but carries on when birthdays/anniversaries and weddings arrive.
Not many realise, though, that it is an art mastered through experiential learning. All possible tricks are part of it. The most common are the following:
1. Remember which gifts came from whom, so they don’t go back.
2. Must erase the year of manufacture if it is a previous one.
3. Try and open carefully so there are no remnants of the sticker/tape that could be exposed.
4. Try and resist the temptation to check the contents or do it in a way that doesn’t interfere with the packing.
5. Do not economise on the cost of a new gift wrap if it becomes necessary.
Please do remember it is not everyone’s cup of tea, so novices beware! It is also important to realise that not all gifts are recycled. Or else, most sellers would not register nearly 40 % of their annual sales.
With so much ‘Gyan’, there may still be room for more innovations.
