Dogs, Monkeys & Pythons – The Animal Kingdom of DLF-2

Dog incidents have consistently been in the spotlight of our DLF 2 community. One of the female stray dogs in the M-2 lane was reported missing by residents. Although there have been no updates regarding her whereabouts, we as a community should come together and help reunite the stray dogs with their territories. Through recent awareness efforts, we have seen successful reunions of strays like Cheeku, a dog from Q1 lane, who was found and returned by a guard in N block. Such incidents reassure us of the safety of our furry friends, and we should continue to work towards their well-being as responsible members of the community.

Though it disheartens me to know of in-human behavior towards a pet Labrador in M-4 lane; The dog is left out on the terrace with no shelter or care, He barks throughout day and night. Creating a wake-up call for the dog owner to respect their dogs as their own. The constitution provides dogs with the right to life and dignity via Article 21 of our Indian constitution, therefore we as humans too should respect and understand our responsibilities towards another living being.

In addition to the recent incidents in Phase 2, it has been reported that a python was spotted in N block. Even though the wildlife rescue team was informed instantly, the python by that time had disappeared. As responsible residents, we should be vigilant and keep an eye out for such occurrences, particularly when children are out playing in the evenings or during walks.

With the summer season approaching, the monkeys in DLF-2 seem to be relatively inactive and are seen in a sleepy state even on the edges of balcony.
