All residents ranging from the age of two to eighty years old came together, bringing their unique energy and enthusiasm to commemorate our 78th Independence Day.
The function was held in the central lawn with Lieutenant General Y Singh as the Chief Guest. It began with the hoisting of the national flag by Lieutenant General Singh accompanied by the group singing of the national anthem by all assembled, setting the patriotic tone.
Next, the Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech reminding all of the sacrifices made to get independence. The security guards of the new security agency did a March Past after which followed the incredible cultural performances—a mix of dances, a superbly impressive piano performance by a group of children, songs, and enactments that showcased India’s diversity and unity.
The little children stole the show with their adorable dance moves, while the older ones dazzled us with energetic performances representing different regions. The grownups too were not to be left behind; they staged powerful skits depicting key moments from India’s independence struggle, while others sang soulful patriotic songs.
All residents and the support staff savoured delicious ‘laddoos’ that were sponsored by our resident, Parul Kaul who works with The Times of India group.
The event wrapped up with a thundering applause from the residents, all of whom were immersed in the patriotic spirit and a sense of pride in our community and country. It was a day of unity and shared love for India—a truly special celebration.
