Mahagun Mezzaria women believe that health is wealth and, we need to resist one of the the biggest threat to health and which is the root cause of many ailments – sugar.
Under the guidance of Hrishika Pandit , resident of Catania tower, the ladies started a 21 day challenge – Say no to Sugar. The first round was taken up in January and the second round has started on 1 February 2023 and 21 members have joined.
It’s a very interesting campaign which not only caters to lose weight but also guides to be healthy and happy. There are certain rules to be followed. Each rule followed gets you +1 and each rule disobeyed get you a -1. Some of the rules are like no sugar, jaggery or honey, walking 5000 steps or having a fruit. The members share these steps and activities taken up by them at the end of the day by taking pictures. This motivates other members to follow.
In the last campaign 15 ladies had participated and benefitted too. Hrishika says “I know one thing for a fact. By the end of second week, ladies who do not walk at all are also motivated and start walking – sometimes even on a windy or rainy day.” This in itself was a big achievement and a big motivator to start the 2nd campaign.
With World Cancer Day around the corner this is certainly a way to ‘Close the Care Gap’. In a similar campaign I initiated #walkformindbodyandsoul and the same is registered at www.worldcanerday.com. This campaign is also for 21 days where you walk for your mind body and soul to keep yourself physically mentally and emotionally healthy.
Life is uncertain and we all need to make the most of it by keeping our focus on health and happiness. Let’s all come together and take this challenge for ourselves, a good way to give yourself a gift this Valentine’s Day
