As the country is involved in election fever, so are our citizen welfare group Block B Sushant Lok-I. Residents of B Block will long cherish the memory of all the good performances of the existing Executive Committee members for their selfless service in improving the structure and activities. They have vastly improved the security of the block by making life easy for the security guards by providing them with beautiful rooms with attached WC’s. The security gates have been identified and properly lit to bring life.
Indication boards naming each lane and showing house nos in the lane have been prominently installed to help any visitor. Sanitation and lighting is much improved in the colony. Water supply system has quite improved even though there is no supply from the system of MCG.
Latest to add is cleaning of parks by making individual contributions of lacs of rupees. Main park with the highest number of visitors is going to be a model park.
Main association of the entire Sushant Lok-1 needs to emulate. There is hardly any sign of activity or communication. The liaison work with MCG and other government bodies is a neglected area, which should be its main role as a federation for all blocks with a population of more than 20,000. There used to be two general body meetings with the participation of residents.
After the amendment of the Society Act, this is missing, as college members only know about the activities and there is no communication to the residents. Let us hope that as the nation looks forward to improvements in governance, our local body will make amends in its performance.
